CAPSTONE

"A CAPSTONE IS A CULMINATING EXPERIENCE THAT ALLOWS A STUDENT TO BRING THE LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE OF THEIR UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION TOGETHER TO ADDRESS AN ISSUE OR QUESTION THAT INTERESTS THEM."

- TAMU HONORS AND UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

I am considering completing either the Undergraduate Research Scholar capstone or a departmental capstone project.

As an Undergraduate Research Scholar, I would like to work with a professor in the department of Anthropology.  My research project would ideally be focused on digital reconstructions of artifacts or craniofacial reconstructions of early hominids.

If I choose to do a departmental capstone, I would model it after the thesis projects done by students in the Master's program for Visualization at A&M.  I would work on a yearlong animation, design endeavor, or interactive display and present the finished product along with my creative process and development of the project at the end of the year.  This would be a very valuable experience as I look to apply to graduate school.

At the moment, I am looking at completing my capstone over the course of my senior year, as I will be studying abroad for half of my junior year.  This next year, I will straighten out the details of my proposed departmental capstone track with my departmental and honors advisors, or apply in the spring to be an Undergraduate Research Scholar for the 2016-2017 school year.
